ATTITUDES TOWARD GOD (continued)
The Christian Doing the Work of God in the Work Place
How does the Christian fulfill that obligation of matching the Savior's singular purpose--that is "...to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10)? The most prominent way to do this in the work place is by forming relationships. This is not to say that the Christian goes and participates in those things which would be anti-Christian, forbidden by God, but rather the Christian will use his influence and attitudes to shine forth as a child of God.
The Christian will begin building a relationship by living the gospel. The Christian's example of living--trustworthiness, love, respect, diligence, etc.--serves as the proverbial "knock at the door" to build a "bridge" for the "traffic" (the gospel message) to travel on. For this relationship to be built and for it to be effective in spreading the gospel the Christian's life must be an "open book," or in the political parlance of today, "full transparency" must be attained.
This is not some new concept to God, for through inspiration He says: "(2) Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: (3) Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart" (2 Cor. 3:2-3). The Christian's attitude towards God should drive the Christian to live the example that can lead to the conversion.
